Blurt: Death of Two Icons on One Day

file0001401323886morguefile.jpg

The deaths of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett have brought tears of sadness to my eyes. I will truly miss them both. I grew up admiring Farrah Fawcett as did many men my age. I enjoyed her talents on Charlie’s Angels and the numerous movies that she appeared. I was truly impressed with the movie “The Burning Bed” and how it brought to the forefront domestic violence in our society. She truly was an American Icon and I respected her work and admired her involvement in the community.

I grew up listening to Michael Jackson’s music. He was only a year and a half older than I. I remember him as a child singing on the stage with his family and his successes in his numerous albums since. I enjoyed the Jackson 5 and many songs he has recorded. My favorites include, “Billie Jean,” “Thriller,” “Beat It,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There.” I know he was a very charitable person and supported many causes through his foundation and supported 39 different charities. His life and involvement have helped make this world a better place.

Their deaths have reinforced my goals to regain my health. This touches very close to home in that I almost died in February. I grew up with both of them in my life and it is hard to imagine life without them. The closeness in age between myself and Michael Jackson makes me take a hard look at how I am living my life and reinforces my decision to continue in my journey to a happier and healthier me. Life is so precious and I treasure every moment. God has truly blessed me. I offer my sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of these two great heroes. It is a great loss to the world. God Bless them both.

I remember seeing Farrah Fawcett in Charlie’s Angels.I didn’t know who she was at the time, but came to realize when I grew up that it was she who had acted in that show.

One of the first albums that we ever owned was Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” It wasn’t a CD,it was the vinyl LP record.I still have it over twenty five years later.I wish that I could give it a spin again,
unfortunately I don’t have my turntable any longer.I used to play that record over and over again.I also have Lionel Ritchie’s LP “Can’t slow Down” which came out around the same time as “Thriller” I think that the songs you mentioned are among everyone’s favorites including myself for sure.Say and think what you will about MJ,he was one in a million. No one can dispute that he was one of the greatest singers, dancers and performers that this world has ever seen.Michael Jackson is a music legend. He is now at peace, something
that seemed to elude him for most of his life. The Rolling Stone website has a page dedicated to Michael. You can post your thoughts and opinions on him in the comments sections and also see what other people are saying.

WGN was airing Charlie’s Angels episodes yesterday. Did you see it? I used to love that show. I admired her even more as she started doing movies. She was a talented actress. I feel for her and her family having to endure the last few months.

I remember vinyl. I used to have numerous albums. My ex-wife kept them in the divorce and then left them when she abandoned the family home. Long story. I had some of Michael Jackson’s albums. I enjoyed his music and still do. His legacy will live on. Thanks for the article.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Ed McMahon. God Bless Them and all who are in grief.
