If you establish a mantra to help you stick to your weight loss goals it can help you in those times of temptation. It also reinforces your successes. I like the one that my Weight Watchers® instructor uses, “You CAN and WILL do it”. When I feel the urge to binge or eat something off of my plan those words come to mind in order to help me overcome that moment of temptation. When I look in the mirror and see the results I have achieved I tell myself, “I knew you could do it”, reinforcing my mantra. There are many quotes of motivation and support available to choose from. Today I offer a brief list to help you stay focused and reach your goal to living a happier and healthier lifestyle.

  • I am a work in process.
  • I am a work in progress.
  • If you don’t do what’s best for your body, you’re the one who comes up on the short end. ~ Jules Erving
  • The best portion of high-calorie, high-fat foods is the smallest one. The best portion of vegetables is the largest one. Period.
  • Habit is habit and not to be flung out the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time. ~ Mark Twain
  • Thou shalt not weigh more than thy refrigerator.
  • Rule your mind or it will rule you. ~ Horace
  • Instead of giving myself reasons why I can’t, I give myself reasons why I can.
  • It will hurt me more to continue being fat than to stop overeating.
  • It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up. ~ Vince Lombardi
  • I want to be there for my grandchildren.
  • No one can make you feel inferior without your permission. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
  • My cravings will go away if I get my mind off of them and do something to occupy my attention.
  • Never, never, never, never give up. ~ Winston Churchill

If I can see it I can do it, I believe I can fly. Below I offer this song of motivation; I believe I can fly, by R. Kelly
